Diwali Celebration- 2024 & Faral Distribution
Like every year this year also Savali’s Bachat Gat women prepared Diwali Faral which was distributed to 800 students and 1725 Adivasi families in Vikramgad & Jawhar talukas of Palghar district. Diwali Faral was also distributed to Katkari Boys & Girls, Senior Citizen Vrudhhashram & 10 poor families in Kudal, Sindhudurg district.
The local women prepared the Faral and earned money.
MGL -Hariyali – Nal Paani Yojana at Kashele
Savali under its Nal-Paani Yojana scheme under CSR funding from Mahanagar Gas Limited has successfully set up Solar System to run water pumps on solar energy making electrical consumption very low and hence cost of water distribution system affordable to adivasi people at Kashele Grampanchayat which is around 16 km from Karjat. Through this project 7 villages are being given 7 separate lines and 7 valves which will control supply of water. The total cost of project was around Rs.52 Lakhs and was completed successfully & handed over to Kashele Grampanchayat in March 2024.
Poultry Farming Workshop
Poultry Farming Workshop was conducted on 10th July 2024. 60 women were given 5 chicks each alonng with feed packets for chicks. They were given traning for care and nurishment of chicks for better results. With this they can start earning a regular monthly income.
X-Ray Unit
To address issue arising from accidents / respiratory & heart problems Savali has installed the X-ray machine from 26th January 2024 for correct timely diagnosis for treatment. A special separate building for operations of X-Ray unit following Radiological Safety from Governments Atomic Energy Regulation Board is built in Savali’s owned medical center premises. Dr. Bhusara, Radiologist examines the X-Ray films and gives the report. Initial response has been extremely good.
Educational Financial Assistance
Savali has provided a girl student perusing Aircraft Maintenance Engineering course from Thakur Institute of Aviation Technology an aid of Rs.1,77,773/- towards her final year engineering fees. She comes from a poor family, her mother is supporting her family income by selling clothes in Mumbai locals and her father working as a farm labourer.
Educational Financial Assistance
Educational assistance of Rs. 6 lacs has been provided to students from poor families who have taken admission in colleges, private computer courses or state board schools towards their school / college fees.
Medical Financial Assistance
Medical financial assistance was provided to 15 patients in Manojagruti Parichay Center, Purandar block, Pune. They are suffering from Schizophrenia, OCD, Delusional Disorder, Bipolar, ID Epilepsy, Anxiety Disorder etc. The patients admitted here are mainly unemployed, housewives or farmers who need medical help but cannot afford it.
Self Defense Camp
Dr. Mrs. Jayashree Deshpande who is the National Convenor of IAP (Indian Academy of Pediatrics), Palghar conducted a Self Defense Camp in Bharati Vidyapith Junior College of Jawhar. The training conducted by a professional martial art trainer was intended to create awareness and impart self-defense techniques to teenage girls. Over 100 girls benefited from the camp.
Medical Kit Distribution
Mumbai cha Bappa Subhash Road Sarvjanik Ganeshostav Mandal with the help of Savali distributed 100 First Aid Medical Kits to 88 Schools and 12 Grampanchayats at our Medical Center at Walvanda.
Thalassemia Camp
Dr. Usha Dave, National President of COMHAD INDIA CHAPTER, an institute recognized by Commonwealth Foundation, London under the auspices Savali conducted screening tests for Thalassemia and Sickle Cell on 113 primary school students at our Medical Center at Walvanda, Jawhar District.
Hypertension and Diabetic Camp
Dr. Ravindra Deshpande conducted Hypertension and Diabetic Camp for 41 patients at our Medical Center at Walvanda. After medical assessment these patients were given necessary medicines for controlling blood pressure and sugar and were also advised about the dos and don’ts of keeping blood pressure and sugar under control and proper diet through their routine activities.
Pediatric Camp
Pediatric camp was conducted by Dr. Jayashree Deshpande on 15 malnourished children who have been previously identified as malnourished under Savali’s Malnourishment Eradication Program conducted for 800 students at various Primary Schools. Apart from checkup of body, height and weight, these children were given proper dietary food, Iron, Calcium Medical supplements and their parents were informed about their health status and specific care to be taken.
Pre-monsoon Equipment Distribution
To prevent the outbreak of diseases specially during rainy season, Savali every year conducts a Pre-monsoon survey in the villages of Jawhar District to understand the requirement of medicines and other material like water purification items, storage bin, mosquito nets etc.
Accordingly, this year 129 villages were given Medichlor for water filtration, Mosquito nets, Dustbins, water filters and Odomos. Savali team conducted Cleanliness Drive and explained ORS preparation in case of an emergency.
