Savali firmly believes in its commitment towards social responsibilities concerning the weaker sections of the society, the farmers, the Adivasi’s, the need to improve the health of women, to supplement the zilla parishad school infrastructure through installation of clean toilets and solar power, the the importance of water conservation and management and other social activities.

Support for Farming Activities

Savali has incorporated a Limited Company ‘Pushpa Mala Farmers Producer Company’ with membership of around 375 farmers for production of Mogra Flowers. Through persistent efforts and handholding of these farmers, this self-sufficient company now annually sells over 3 Tonnes of Mogra amounting to about Rs. 1.2 Crores.

Savali has also distributed over 7,000 saplings to farmers for Mogra cultivation.

With an effort towards enhancing farmer incomes, Savali has also been supporting “Organic farming’. Plumeria (Chapha) saplings have been distributed amongst the farmers.

Savali has recently made a small beginning by distributing portable Bio-Gas plants. These plants would be a source of eco-friendly fuel for the farmers.

Water Management

Savali has executed a water management project based on Solar Energy at Kashele, Karjat which has benefitted over 8,000 villagers. This project has been funded by Mahanagar Gas Ltd.

A drip irrigation system has been installed at various sites, benefiting 250 farmers. Savali has also provided Compound fencing to farmers covering 147 gunthas.

Savali has so far carried out Water management Program in 40 villages through Nal-Paani Scheme or uplifting water from river to people located on hill.

Social Welfare

To mitigate the issues of irregular power supply, Savali has supplied Solar power in 25 primary zilla parishad schools. Now these schools get proper electric supply, so children can make use of the fans and e- learning equipment which has also been supplied by Savali.

To share the joy of various festivities with the Adivasi population, Savali has for several years been distributing 10,000 Puran Poli on the occasion of Holi and over 2,000 Diwali sweets packets on the occasion of Diwali.

Savali has been helping ‘Women’s Bachat Gats’ in making home made products like Nachani Ladoos which are supplied to schools in the area under the Children nutrition program. Savali’s efforts to create employment for Bachat Gats is successful and 5 bachat gats have started earning regularly by preparing millet flour, Thalipeeth [Mixed Gram] Flour. They are participating in exhibitions and selling thalipeeth flour, millet flour, paper bags etc.

Youth Empowerment: Financial assistance provided to 120 Adivasi youth for running grocery shops, fertilizer shop, vada pav centre, sheli palan [goat rearing], assistance for purchase of commercial vehicle etc. Savali has provided this financial assistance to deserving young men and women to start business by creating a revolving fund.
